Le tante voci e le tante lingue del Mediterraneo si incontrano nel nuovo progetto ideato dal Festival Sete Sóis Sete Luas: Les Voix du 7Sóis. Diretto dal polistrumentista Stefano Saletti, l'ensemble vede rappresentate le varie anime del Mare Nostrum: la Spagna, il Portogallo, Israele, il Nord Africa, il sud d'Italia.
Le voci intense e affascinanti sono quelle di Talya Solan (Israele), Juan Pinilla (Andalusia-Spagna), Pedro Mestre (Alentejo-Portogallo), che si uniscono agli strumenti di Wafir Shaikheldin (Nord Africa - fisarmonica, violino, oud, voce), di Alen Sinkauz (Istria-Croazia - basso) e appunto di Stefano Saletti (Italia - bouzouki, oud, voce). Il nuovo gruppo ha realizzato una residenza artistica e registrato ad aprile 2010 un Cd dal vivo a Vila Real de Santo António in Portogallo. Nel suo repertorio la formazione unisce melodie e testi tradizionali a composizioni originali che vengono riarrangiate e interpretate attraverso l'interazione e il coinvolgimento dei vari stili musicali. Si intrecciano così canti ebraici dello Yemen e del sud del Portogallo, il flamenco e i canti di lavoro del meridione italiano, i makam del Nord Africa con i ritmi dei Balcani. Nella musica de Les Voix du 7Sóis riecheggiano i suoni dei porti del Mediterraneo, le melodie, gli strumenti di una tradizione millenaria fatta di scambi, di incontri e di dialogo che non va perduta.

As muitas vozes e as muitas línguas do Mediterrâneo encontram-se no projecto idealizado pelo Festival Sete Sóis Sete Luasem 2010: Les Voix du 7Sóis. Dirigido pelo multi instrumentista Stefano Saletti, o ensemble vê representadas as diferentes almas do Mare Nostrum. As fascinantes vozes de Talya Solan (Israel), Juan Pinilla (Andaluzia), Pedro Mestre (Alentejo) unem-se aos instrumentos de Wafir Shaikheldin (Norte de África, acordeão, violino, oud e voz), de Alen Sinkauz (Istria, Croácia, baixo), Roberto Pistolesi (Itália, bateria) e Stefano Saletti (Itália, bouzouki, oud, voz). Assim podemos encontrar cantos hebraicos do Yemen e melodias do sul de Portugal, o flamenco e os cantos de trabalho do sul da Itália, os makam do Norte de África com os ritmos dos Balcãs. Na música de Les Voix du 7Sóis encontramos os sons dos portos do Mediterrâneo, os cantos, os instrumentos de uma tradição milenária feita de trocas, encontros e diálogo.

Les différents voix et les multiples langues de la Méditerranée se rencontrent dans l'originelle production du Festival Sete Sóis Sete Luas du 2010: Les Voix du 7Sóis. Dirigé par le musicien italien Stefano Saletti, l'ensemble représente toutes les âmes du Mare Nostrum. Les intenses et fascinantes voix de Tayla Solan (Israël ), Juan Pinilla (Andalousie,Espagne), Pedro Mestre (Alentejo-Portugal), se unissent aux instruments de Wafir Shaikheldin (Afrique du Nord – accordéon, violon, oud, voix), de Alen Sinkauz (Croatie – la basse) Roberto Pistolesi (Italiebatterie) et Stefano Saletti (Italie - bouzouki, oud, voix). Les chants juifs du Yemen et les melodies du sud de Portugal se mélangent avec le flamenco, les chants du travail de l'Italie du Sud, les makam de l'Afrique du nord et les rythmes des Balcans. Dans la musique de Les Voix du 7Sóis on peut écouter les sons des ports de la Méditerrannée, les chants, les instruments d'une tradition millenarie faite d'echanges, rencontres et dialogue.

Las muchas voces y los diferentes idiomas del Mediterráneo se reúnen en la producción original del Festival Sete Sóis Sete Luas del 2010: Les Voix du 7Sóis. Dirigida por el musico italiano Stefano Saletti, el grupo representa todas las almas del Mare Nostrum. Las voces intensas y fascinantes de Tayla Solan (Israel), Juan Pinilla (Andalusia), Pedro Mestre (Alentejo-Portugal), se unen a los instrumentos de Wafir Shaikheldin (Africa del Norte – acordéon, violín, oud, voz), de Alen Sinkauz (Croacia – bajo) Roberto Pistolesi (Italia, batería) y Stefano Saletti (Italia - bouzouki, oud, voz). Los cantos judíos de Yemen y las melodias del Sur de Portugal se mezclan con el flamenco, los cantos de trabajo del Sur de Italia, los makam del Norte de Africa y los ritmos de los Balcanes. En la música del grupo se pueden escuchar los sonidos de los puertos del Mediterráneo, los cantos, los instrumentos de una tradición milenaria hecha de intercambios, encuentros y diálogo.

BIO

Stefano Saletti (Italy)
(Artistic director, bouzouki, oud, percussion, voice)
Musician and composer who plays traditional mediterranean instruments (bouzuki, oud, mandola). He is the founder and band leader of Novalia and the Piccola Banda Ikona, the band that sings in Sabir an old language of the Mediterranean sea. He has been the musical director of 7SóisOrkestra, a Mediterranean orchestra that brings together musicians from different countries.
As a composer he has also worked on film soundtracks, dance, theatre, poetry and television. He has toured in many different countries and played in the most important world music Festival worldwide. He has also studied and researched traditional Italian music and twentieth century avantgarde music.


Pedro Mestre (Alentejo, Portugal)
(Voice, viola campaniça, percussion)
Pedro Mestre is a native of Aldeia da Sete (Castro Verde) and has dedicated his life to Alentejo traditional music, developing various projects in this area as player and builder of viola Campaniça and founder and leader of Alentejo's choirs including "Grupo Coral e Etnográfico - Os Cardadores"." Beyond this, also includes the following musical projects: "Encontro de Violas - Viola Campaniça e Viola Caipira - Pedro Mestre e Chico Lobo"; "O Homem que á Terra Canta - Vozes, Violas e Guitarras", "Festejos da Terra" e Vozes Que Cantam Cultura" organized by Rede internacional de Municípios pela Cultura, the "Grupo Viola Campaniça" the group of traditional choirs "4uatro ao Sul" and the group of traditional music "Rastolhice". Since 2006 he leads the project Cante nas Escolas (Sing in Schools), dedicated for students in the 1st cycle of basic education.


Juan Pinilla (Andalucia, Spain)
(Voice)
Juan Pinilla is one of the most important young talents of the Andalusian gipsy singing of the moment. To his condition of intellectual flamenco singer, it is necessary to join him that of journalist, translator and investigative, compromised with the human rights. He possesses several national prizes, between them, the most important of the world of the Lámpara Minera 2007. He has realized concerts in countries as Japan, China, Poland, England, Italy, Iran, Denmark, Germany, Sudan, Egypt, Portugal, etc. between others. He has on the market several discs, being more important the registered one with the stamp of National Spanish Television.


Wafir Shaikheldin (North Africa)
(Accordion, violin, oud, ney, voice, percussion)
Wafir's career during his 20 years in Spain has gone through such eclectic experiences such as Early Music with Eduardo Paniagua, Celtic pop with Hevia, Galician folk with Luar Na Lubre, Castilian folk with La Musgaña, and Radio Tarifa's rich world fusion. Even the most commercial pop acts, such as Amistades Peligrosas' have taken advantage of his versatility and know how.


Alen Sinkauz (Istria, Croatia)
(Bass)
Composer, bass player and theatrical performer , Alen Sinkauz was born in Pola (Croatia) and degree in musical philology at the University of Padua (Italy). Founding member of experimental rock band East Rodeo, is working on the third album, which makes use of the prestigious collaboration of Marc Ribot, Greg Cohen, Warren Ellis and Ivana Sajka. With this group has played in several festivals of alternative and experimental music in Italy, Croatia, France, Slovenia, Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland. He composes music for theater, film, video art and contemporary dance. From 2002 he collaborated with "Tam Teatromusica" experimental theater company headed by Michael Sambin of Padua, with whom he has made numerous productions and performances. He also collaborates with Istrian ethno jazz singer Tamara Obrovac in multimedia project "Paphonia Istria. He is currently involved in theatrical production "Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose" by Ivana Sajka, Croatian playwright and director.


Talya Solan (Israel)
(Voice)
Born in Rehovot, Israel, Talya G.A Solan is one of the fresh, fascinating voices in the Israeli 'World Music scene. She graduated Tel-Aviv University's Art Faculty and studied singing with Mrs. Rachel Hochman (Israel's leading expert for voice production). Talya's singing is versatile and multi-colored. She elegantly gallops from Yemenite trills to Bulgarian folk songs. Through singing, she expresses her roots (Bulgarian and Yemenite) and her curious soul. Her performances derive from a wide range of traditions and musical heritages: folk songs, Gypsy songs, the Judeo-Spanish (Ladino) music, liturgical songs for holidays and weekdays from the Jewish religious texts. In 2004 she established the Israeli ethnic ensemble and begun performing especially Gypsy & Balkan repertoire. They played in various festivals around the world: Italy, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Malta, Slovenia, Poland, Bosnia Herzegovina, USA.
